Richard Wall was born in Brooklyn, the second of five children. His mother Ann (Snow) can trace her Irish roots to Counties Cavan and Derry. His father John was the son of a Belfast immigrant who came to New York through Ellis Island in 1925. Richard attended Power Memorial H.S. in Manhattan and received his B.S. from John Jay College. He was appointed to the NYPD in 1982 and is currently assigned as a Sergeant in the Technical Assistance Response Unit. Richard is married to Alice (Curran), a fellow NYPD Detective assigned to the Intelligence Division. They have one child, a daughter Ailis. Richard is a member of The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and has just been elected to serve as President of the NYPD Emerald Society a fraternal organization of Irish American Police Officers.
