Leaders Beal Bocht top Lansdowne

Velocity won its first game of the young season in Bronx Irish Soccer League women’s action on Saturday. Velocity’s stopper, Nancy Blaine, scored in the first half off a throw-in from Diana Usini. The game was tied at the half, 1-1 when Parlour Mom’s Toby Gillen was able to get control of the ball off a header from teammate Lisa Moore. Parlour Mom’s Maggie Bradley Cooke had a great performance in goal despite Velocity’s second goal, off a corner kick. Velocity’s Laura Rizzo took the kick that hit teammate Sheri Lawson who gained control and passed to Val Haskell for the win.

HARPS 0, FAGAN’S 0
This match had saw great performances for both keepers, Miriam Peters for the Harps and Allison Leydon for Fagans. Despite valiant efforts on behalf of both offenses, neither team was able to finish the ball in the net. Nadine Doherty and Dani Meoak of Fagan’s and Harps’ Jane Rail and Laura Anzai all played well.

NED DEVINE’S 1, SEAN OG’S 0
Ned Devine’s secured their first win of the season against Sean Ogs. Ned Devines’ Hillary Kelly was able to score in the second half off a throw-in from teammate Erin Tracy. Sean Og’s saw a great performance from keeper Caroline Murphy and forward Lynn McMahon.
