Mayo 4-22, Monaghan 1-3
The sweltering conditions on Sunday failed to faze a Mayo side that were full of determination to regain lost ground of late. The Westerners, with new import Linda Donnelly in outstanding form, hit the ground running at the Rockland GAA pitch.
Indeed, Mayo dominated in every sector and with Denise Durnion in fine form in front of the posts they easily toppled the Ulster girls. Monaghan’s defense was torn apart time and again with the McKenna sisters, Cathy and Joanne, kicking some exquisite points from all angles. The Farney girls fought to the bitter end, but they were totally outclassed by a much slicker Mayo outfit. Pamela Donoghue and Karen Kelly were their best players.
Mayo: Linda Donnelly 2-5, Denise Dunnion 0-7, Joanne McKenna 0-5, Cathy McKenna 2-2, Ellen McGrail, Una Kennedy, Maura Kelly 0-1.
Monaghan: Norma McCarthy 0-1, Beth Higgins 0-1, Karen Kelly 1-1.

Kerry 3-32, Fermanagh 2-2
Fermanagh will learn little from this humiliating result. It’s tough at the top and the Erne girls will have to improve if they want to compete in this league.
Kerry dominated in every sector with great defense work and superb ball movement between the midfield and forwards. Once again a
summer import seemed to do most of the damage: Roisin Grogan was outstanding and hit a personal tally of 1-6 over the hour.
Kerry: Roisin Grogan 1-6, Yvonne Rabbit 1-7, Maureen O’Driscoll 1-4, Clare Tracey 0-7, Tracey Rice 0-4, Bridget Fallon 0-4.
Fermanagh: Pauline Boylan 1-0, Ursual Mallon 1-0, Brenda McElduff 0-2.
