LGAA Roundup N.Y. women are Boston bound

The New York ladies GAA schedule is as follows: Friday, June 23 at Van Cortlandt Park. 6:30 p.m., Cavan vs. Fermanagh.

There are no championship games this Sunday. New York ladies County team will travel to Boston for a challenge game as part of their preparation for the Junior All-Ireland semi final which is being held in Gaelic Park on Sept 9. The bus will depart from the Traditional Irish Bakery on Katonah Avenue at 7:30 on Sunday morning.

St Eunan’s from Donegal are visiting New York next week and have arranged the following matches in van Cortlandt Park. Tuesday, June 27 at Van Cortlandt Park, St. Eunan’s (Dongeal) vs. Rest of New York Wednesday, June 28 at Van Cortlandt Park, St. Eunan’s (Donegal) vs. Cavan

Last weekend’s games

On Sunday last, New York ladies games were played at the Rocland Psych Center field.

Leitrim, fresh from their Anne Kearney cup final defeat the previous week, put on a determined performance which left Rockland scoreless.

Mayo vs. Fermanagh

As expected, Mayo had an easy win over Fermanagh and used this opportunity to hone their scoring skills as they enter the last few weeks of the Sean Faherty Championship.

Na Fianna vs. Monaghan

The final game of the day was worth waiting around for as these two teams were all into their game with some excellent football from both sides. However, it was Na Fianna’s day as they clinched the victory with 2 late goals to come out on top.

Donegal win

Midweek action between Donegal and Stamford on May 30 resulted in a Donegal victory. Donegal 2-8, Stamford 1-5.

Players of the game was Bobby Stacks for Donegal and Katrina Lynch for Stamford.

Golf fund-raiser

New York Ladies county training fund golf fund-raiser takes place this Saturday, June 24.
