The Harbour Lights restaurant in lower Manhattan reopened on Tuesday, having been closed since Sept. 11.

The restaurant, owned by Austin Delaney, has been completely renovated, according to manager Tom Begley.

“This was a frozen zone after Sept. 11,” Begley explained. “No one could get in here without photo ID.”

The restaurant received a complete makeover, including “a new kitchen, new bathrooms, floor, ceiling, banqueting facilities and we renovated the outside deck area,” Begley added.

The Harbour Lights was also able to retain 50 percent of its original staff.
