Maguire-Moore, Grant bring CBOI to NYC

She held the same position back in 2005 when the orchestra, which brings together young people from the two communities in Northern Ireland with those from the Republic, played at Carnegie Hall and at an event in Dorchester, Mass.
Now, the 130-musician outfit – this time with 105 new faces – is getting ready for upcoming concerts at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, and at Armory Track & Field Center in Washington Heights.
Like her co-chairperson this year, Dundalk, Co. Louth, native Ciar_n Grant, most of the New York volunteers are Irish-born, many of them from the border region.
“We know what it’s all about,” said Maguire-Moore, who is from Clones, Co. Monaghan.
“It gives us perspective,” Grant said.
Grant, a chiropractor and sports medicine specialist with offices on Park Avenue, has been in the United States for 15 years.
