The Importance of Scheduling
If you are interested in what the headhunter has to offer, you will want to speak to her or him outside office hours. Suggest that they call you at home at a time when you will not be distracted by family concerns or anything else. You will need to focus fully on the conversation.
Don’t Get Complacent
Being contacted by a headhunter doesn’t mean that the job is yours for the taking. You will still need to sell yourself. Explain what you do and how well you do it.
Stay In Touch
Your initial interaction with a headhunter may not lead to a job. But don’t let the recruiter slide off your list of contacts. Recruiters will — obviously — have a much broader knowledge of current job opportunities than you. Keeping in contact with them means you have a much better chance of hearing about the perfect job opening when it arises.
