Buncrana-born Dermot Byrne is one of the tastiest and subtlest button accordionists in Irish music today. His fingering was fleet, assured, yet never flashy for its own sake on “The Dispute at the Crossroads/Columba Ward’s/Si_ns Reel,” a medley that was alluring enough for a young stepdancer to get up from her seat and dance impromptu in front of the stage.
