McCain for Scranton forum

February 17, 2011

By Staff Reporter

McCain has been expected for several months to confirm his attendance at what has been described this year as the “flexible forum.”
Senator Hillary Clinton spoke at the forum last April when she was still competing in the Democratic primaries. The Obama campaign has been sent an invitation and there were signals at presstime that the invitation is being considered by the campaign.
The forum, organized by former Bronx assemblyman John Dearie, presents the candidates with a series of questions on issues of concern to Irish America. Scranton has a large Irish American population and is the birthplace of Democratic vice presidential candidate, Joe Biden.
