The one-time band mates will probably have plenty to say to one another, now that Mel has termed Victoria’s new single “atrocious,” “weak” and “terrible.” Which is probably how Posh usually describes Mel’s wardrobe, but sure, that’s another story.
Now, Sporty wasn’t just being gratuitously mean to an old colleague. She was put on the spot last week during a radio interview, when she was asked her opinion of Posh’s double A-side single, “The Groove / Let Your Head Go.”
“I thought it was atrocious,” she said of the latter. “I’m not being horrible, I’m just giving my opinion. I thought it was a terrible song. Lyrically it was weak.”
Mel thinks that Posh should just pack in the music career and enjoy mothering her cute kiddies and canoodling with her hunky hubby, soccer god David Beckham.
“She’s got such a great life, I don’t know why she doesn’t just sit back and enjoy it,” sighed Sporty. “But she’s very headstrong. She does exactly what she wants.”
Well, Posh may want to make Mel eat her words. Literally. So let’s just hope that Sporty’s still in top shape, because she may have to run for her life.
In more news from the Beckham front, we hear that David has finally “arrived” in the U.S. He’s been invited to make a guest appearance on “The Simpsons” TV show. The long-running animated series has become the badge of cool among celebrities – sort of like divorcing Jennifer Lopez or making your own, um, “private” video tape. Becks had been dismissed a few months back by the executive producer of the series, who dismissed him as “not really famous enough.” I mean, what does a guy have to do for a little attention these days: go on national TV and admit to wearing his wife’s undies?
