Memorial takes shape

February 17, 2011

By Staff Reporter

It is eight years now since the horrific events of 9/11 and while reconstruction at the World Trade Center site has been less than speedy, what is taking firmer shape now is the concept and composition of the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum which will be located in and around the footprints of the fallen towers.
The memorial, when complete, will honor those who died in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania on that never to be forgotten day. It will also, rightly and thoughtfully, remember those who perished in the first bombing of the World Trade Center, in February, 1993.
We encourage our readers to visit the website for the planned memorial, and indeed to be encouraged by what they see. A first glance seems to present a picture of a tribute that will be both visually impressive, suitably contemplative, and able to accommodate large numbers of visitors. The website for the memorial is www.national9/11memorial.org.
