More subsidies

Irish dairy farmers will get further subsidies from Brussels, according to the Irish Examiner.

Following pressure from Agricultural minister Joe Walsh, a meeting of the EU Milk Management Committee decided to increase the level of production aid by 33 percent.

The Irish Farmers Association welcomed the news but continued to express concern about the ultimate fate of Ireland’s 26,000 dairy farmers.
