DUBLIN — The sale of a copy of the 1916 Proclamation for a record _41,100 was described as “mind boggling” by the National Museum’s expert, who said that it did not try to buy it at last week’s Sotheby’s auction in London because it already had one.
The copy — which turned up with a family in Britain — fetched well above the highest pre-sale estimate of _35,000.
