Music Review Rhinecliff is the reel deal

Banana Fish Zero, Hypnotic Clambake, Freak Love Messiah, Plastic Nebraska: these are some of the regional retro-rock bands that have played the back downstairs room of the Rhinecliff Hotel, which virtually hugs the Hudson River. But on this Sunday afternoon, rock was replaced by reels, jigs, hornpipes, and songs under the gentle coaxing of Father Charlie Coen, pastor of St. Christopher’s in nearby Red Hook and 1976 senior All-Ireland champion on concertina, flute, and tin whistle from Woodford, Co. Galway.
