Clare vs. Kilkenny

4 p.m.

Kilkenny has been a little out of sorts recently, their most recent outing having proved to be a defeat in the knockout final versus an on-form Tipperary side.

Clare is still up there and in with a shout of pulling something off this season, though I fancy Kilkenny to grab the points here. The Bannermen will be slight favorites, but the Cats will be out to prove the doubters wrong. Not having captured their true form yet, they still have quite a few games left, and if Luke Doyle is back from injury, expect Kilkenny to make up for lost time.

Stamford vs Donegal

5:15 p.m.

This is certainly the match of the day with league-leading Donegal, having already qualified for the playoffs pitted against perennial darkhorses Stamford. Donegal have little to lose, and may use this game to blood some players who haven’t received much of a lookin’ this season, but surely Messrs McGrath and Timoney will prove me wrong and start with their strongest lineup.

With a number of sides snapping at their heels, Stamford will certainly go all out for victory, having seen rivals Leitrim despatch of Cork so easily last week at the park. I’ll go for a surprising Stamford victory here, to delight their traveling army of supporters.
