Na Fianna women take aim at Kerry

Kerry vs. Na Fianna

Kerry may have put their Peter Connaughton winning celebrations on ice for a week, or so manager Paudie Mulvihill will hope. The Kingdom looked good at times against weak Donegal, but if they don’t improve on their shooting, they’ll pay a price for it on this occasion. Na Fianna have some wonderful players in Ciara Ferry, Mags Fitzgerald and summer import Mairead McGowan at full back. They will, however, be missing their inspirational leader, Mary McEvoy, who is in Ireland. Kerry are on a high right now and if Roisin Grogan, Mags Dineen and Yvonne Rabbitte continue to improve, they’ll be hard to topple.

1:30 p.m., Monaghan vs. Rockland

Rockland got the better of Monaghan two weeks ago and will be confident of another victory on Sunday. Pamela O’Donoghue, Catherine and Marie Flood, Francis Brennan and Derval Carey are their top players, while Rockland have a real match winner in Jenny Kirby. If she gets help from Kerry Ann Galvin and Sharon Aiefo on Sunday, Rockland may get to the semifinals.
