But while her first band bonding didn’t take — she was kicked out of the pop band Six when organizers discovered that she was underage — Nadine found her niche with the up-and-coming Girls Aloud. But even within this Louis Walsh-sponsored singing sisterhood, Nadine has managed to develop something of a reputation.
The pop cutie admitted recently that what distinguishes her from her bandmates. It seems that Nadine’s idea of a good time is “a quiet night in,” as she told the Sunday World. Sure, she’s just a shy, retiring girl at heart.
“We did a gig in Dublin recently,” she said.
“And Louis Walsh went to the after-show party and said to the other girls, ‘I don’t have to ask where Nadine is,’ ” she said. “[He said] ‘she must be at home, knitting!’ “
The singer also owns up to a streak of prudishness when it comes to racy scenes on TV. Particularly if the parents are in the room.
“Just before the sex scenes come on, I’ll offer to go and make the tea,” she giggled. ” ‘Anyone fancy a cuppa? Don’t worry yourself, Ma, I’ll go.’ “
So, given Nadine’s conservative nature, her fans should expect to see lots of her — but not too much of her, if you catch our drift — in the future. While she doesn’t mind wearing a sexy outfit (or 10), nudity is out of the question. In fact, the last time she doffed her clothes outdoors “was probably in my paddling pool as a kid,” she laughed. Sorry, fellas.
