Promoters have been granted planning permission for the Aug. 29 show, much to the consternation of local residents, who seem to fear that their small town will be overrun with godless, marauding Vogue-ers.
While there are plenty of people in Ireland grumbling about the singer?s decision not to perform on Saturday because of her religious beliefs, there hasn?t been a peep out of London, where the show will play at Wembley Arena on Sunday, Aug. 22. It?ll be interesting to see if the Irish fans? staunch religious convictions will impact ticket sales, though Madonna probably won?t worry -? unless there?s a GAA final scheduled on the same day. My own cynical prediction: the 80,000 tickets will be snapped up within 2 hours. Now go ahead, Ireland, prove me wrong.
Let?s hope actor Matthew Broderick has a tight grip on his ego — or at least a healthy sense of humor. This week, London?s News of the World reports that ?Sex and the City? star Sarah Jessica Parker is planning to set up house in the English capital, near the theater district. Oh, and by the way, Matt will be relocating as well. He?s going to star in the West End production of his hit show, ?The Producers,? though he obviously can?t compete with the missus in the fashion stakes.
