Irish pop princess Andrea Corr has a message for the oafish Gallagher brothers of Oasis: she and her photogenic siblings could drink party-hearty Noel and Liam “under the table.”
The pride of Dundalk threw down the gauntlet recently, after she and a pal were seen guzzling Champagne at a trendy Belfast nightspot. But even though The Corrs can hold their drink, she doesn’t have any plans to put it to the test.
“I don’t want to seem like an Irish clichT,” she told The Star newspaper. (Note to Noel and Liam: you can stop practicing now.)
Andrea’s drinking boast is apparently a sign of her new outlook on life. The singer was devastated by the death of her mother, Jean, in 1999. But she says she’s come to terms with her loss.
“For the first year after she died, I didn’t want to go to sleep,” said Andrea. “I thought if she died, then so could I.”

The group’s recording and performing schedule kept the family busy, and, eventually, Andrea could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“[I developed] a lust for life and for living for the moment,” she said.
But living for the moment apparently doesn’t involve huge shopping sprees, even though Andrea is rolling in cash. Both of her parents still have a strong influence on her.
“Daddy sees my credit card bills, because he manages our money,” the singer confided. “I’m also haunted by my mother when I buy things, so I don’t really have freedom when it comes to shopping.”
Case in point: Andrea recently fell in lust with a pair of boots that cost a cool _2,500. She was tempted.
“The demon in me said, ‘Well, I really like them,’ but I heard my mother’s voice,” she said. “She won that battle.”
Turkey talk
It doesn’t matter how famous someone is: holidays are the great equalizer. Just ask hunky actors Liam Neeson and Aidan Quinn.
The New York Daily News reports that Neeson’s better half, actress Natasha Richardson, had decided, in advance, on a fair division of holiday labor. She’d do all the cooking, but the hubby would have to do his bit, too.
“Liam will help by peeling potatoes and then, later, he will wash the dishes and clean up,” she confided to columnists Rush and Molloy. “He likes doing that.”
This was news to Liam, whose film schedule called for him to be in Australia on Turkey Day. But Natasha was not doing the whole bird thing on her own.
“He will leave for Australia the next day,” she said.
Aidan Quinn planned to take a slightly more traditional approach to the holidays. Something involving downs, and men in tight trousers and ill-advised shoulder pads
“On Thanksgiving, I ask my wife every half hour, ‘Honey, is there anything I can do to help?’ ” admitted the blue-eyed hottie. “Then I run to the football game on TV and try my best to stay out of earshot.”
