Now that we can all watch BallyK in the comfort of our own homes, be on the lookout for ‘din Moloney, who guest stars on a few upcoming episodes. She plays the mad, wild-haired girlfriend of handyman Donal over the next few weeks (for those who are watching on WLIW, Wednesdays at 9 p.m.).

‘din, who’s the daughter of chief Chieftain Paddy Moloney, takes after her famous father in more than looks. With drive, determination and a generous helping of talent, she’s carved out a successful performing career – though she’s in front of the cameras rather than behind the pipes, like dear old dad.

Moloney will be seen in Anjelica Huston’s upcoming film, "The Mammy," which is filming in Ireland at the moment. Though we’re not sure what part she plays, we do know that she’s in good, if eclectic, company; fellow "Mammy" stars include Huston, comedian Brendan O’Carroll and ol’ snake hips himself, Tom Jones. By the way, speaking of BallyK: for those of you who are watching on WNJN (Sundays at 8 p.m.): our condolences (you know what we mean). And WYBE viewers: make sure you set the VCRs for Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, at 9 p.m. Just trust us.

Kissin’ Cousins

They may be first cousins, they may carry the weight of the family name and legacy, and they may even be in the same general line of work, but that’s where the similarities end for John Kennedy Jr. and Douglas Kennedy. If you don’t believe us, just look at the way they handled their weddings.

When "George" publisher John, the world’s most eligible bachelor and "People" magazine’s "Sexiest Man Alive" tied the knot with Carolyn Bessette a couple of years ago, it was done with the utmost secrecy. Secluded island, one photo released to the world, family only, etc., etc.

Fox-TV reporter Douglas Kennedy, the son of Robert and Ethel Kennedy, married schoolteacher Molly Stark last weekend. 250 guests, a lobster bake after the ceremony, lots of photographers jockeying for position outside. Kennedy was unperturbed by the swarming paparazzi.

"They’re my colleagues," he laughed.

John, are you listening?

For the love of . . .

Oy, that Kevin Costner. Cute as a button, wears clothes well, and, as he said so memorably in "Bull Durham," he likes long, slow, wet kisses. So far, so good. But Kevin, take it from us: enough with the sports, okay?

Costner is set to star in yet another baseball-themed movie, in the fervent hope that film audiences will forget his recent stinkeroos "The Postman" and "Waterworld." Though many believe these were actually the same movie, there was an important distinction: in one post apocalyptic wasteland, Costner does his best to revive civilization by delivering mail. Yeah, like the world as we know it would cease to exist without those letters from Publishers Clearing House which announce that "You [insert name here] might have won $40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000."

Well, maybe it would.

Costner, who’s never been what one might call an "actor’s actor" – anyone remember his lousy English accent in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"? – has made lots of sports films. He was a catcher in "Bull Durham," a sentimental baseball fan in "Field of Dreams" and a golfer in "Tin Cup." There seems to be something about Costner, eyes attractively moist with unshed tears as he experiences the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat, that strikes a chord deep within us. He’s sort of the guy equivalent of Demi Moore, except, of course, not as muscular.

Anyway, Costner’s new film will be called "For the Love of the Game," and he will play a cute as a button pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, who wears clothes well and presumably also enjoys long, slow, wet kisses. Some of the scenes will be shot at Yankee Stadium (Kevin is kissing George Steinbrenner’s um, ring, as we speak) and Costner is searching for a leading lady type. We hear that equally cute as a button Meg Ryan has turned down the part (she must have seen "Waterworld"). Possibilities include Natasha Richardson and Kyra Sedgwick, spouses of Liam Neeson and Kevin Bacon, respectively.

Chart-er club

Nice to see that the clean-cut Corrs, a gorup made up of four singing siblings, have the number one album in Ireland this week. "Talk on Corners," which is slowly but surely making its way onto American charts, is terrific – catchy songs, pretty harmines, and an subtle Irish flair on the instrumental tracks.

In more Irish chart news, BoyZone have reached number one on the singles chart with "No Matter What." The BoyZ have been out and about in New York recently, planning an assault on the American market . . .
