Brosnan says that he’s given the matter a lot of thought, and he thinks that he’s come up with the perfect successor: 37-year-old British actor Colin Salmon.
The current Bond thinks that Salmon, who has appeared in three 007 films in the role of Charles Robinson, is a “great actor.” And, if he were to get the part, he would attract heaps of press attention as the first black actor to play the super spy.
Not that Pierce is in any hurry to hand over the keys to the fancy sports car just yet.
“It’ll be interesting to see how I really kind of deal with it, letting go” he said. “You become a bit possessive of the role.”
Pierce says that it’s particularly tough when the series keeps going from strength to strength.
“Each one has gotten better and better,” he said, wistfully.
