The Irish Daily Mirror reports that Keating has his eye on Inishturkbeg Island, a scenic oasis just 15 boat minutes from Clewbay, Co. Mayo. The island, which includes a house, a guest cottage, an orchard as well as vegetable and flower gardens, is reportedly a steal at only euro 1.2 million.
The property was formerly owned by a Dutch couple, which explains why the island’s main power source is — you guessed it — a windmill. (And no, we haven’t been nipping at the Amstel Light.) Keating is said to be very close to signing the papers. If he does, he’ll be in good — and very familiar — company. Neighboring Inishdaskey Island is owned by his old friend Louis Walsh.
