New & Noteworthy: Starts with a ‘J’

Sometimes there’s a bit of genre-bending, as in last week’s pairing of actress Renee Zellweger and country music star Kenny Chesney, but normally, they follow the Garanimals rule: tiger-tiger (i.e., actor-actor). But even when they pair off within the accepted guidelines, it’s no guarantee that things will go smoothly.
Now, you’re probably thinking about the Brad-Jennifer-Angelina triangle, but that is soooo five weeks ago, kids. No, this week’s celebrity train wreck-in-the-making concerns hunky Irish American actor Jerry O’Connell (“Crossing Jordan”), who recently started keeping company with model-turned-actress Rebecca Romjin, who used to be married to that “Full House” guy. Jerry and Rebecca made an appearance at the Kentucky Derby last week, which caused the crowd to go a bit wild — well, as wild as they were going to go for creatures who only had two legs.
“Rebecca Romjin!” screamed some of the onlookers, according to the New York Daily News. But the identity of her handsome escort seemed to escape them — they greeted the good-natured Jerry with shouts of “John Stamos!”
