New & Noteworthy: The spell is broken

The group, which was sort of the ladies’ auxiliary of Boyzone, has faded from view over the last couple of years. After topping the UK pop charts with five No. 1 hits, including the insidiously catchy “C’est La Vie,” the girls were dropped by their record label and told to hit the road. But they seem philosophical about it.
Eldest band member Sinead O’Carrol says that she’s looking forward to new challenges.
“B*witched are officially over but I still have to carry on,” she told Showbusinessireland.com.
“I am currently getting ready to launch a solo career,” she said. “Since leaving the band I have started working on some solo material which I hope to release by the end of the year.”
Hmmmm . . . isn’t that what those Boyzone guys said when their band went the way of the dinosaur? (Hey, just asking.)
