St. Raymond’s 0-13, Brooklyn 0-7
Saint Raymond’s are truly on a roll this season. Not regularly given the opportunity to play their football on New York’s premier Gaelic ground, the lads of Raymond’s took full advantage of the bigger stage, and defeated Brooklyn in this Division B junior football clash.
Having now won three games this season, Raymond’s are certainly looking good for promotion. They appear to have molded themselves into quite an impressive footballing unit, having a sturdy backline, and a forward selection that can compete with the best in junior football.
Opening proceedings with some fine scoring from midfielder Teddy Mulvihill, Raymond’s went on to further their lead through efforts from Larry Toner and Sean O’Flynn.
Brooklyn hit back through efforts from Andrew O’Connor, who himself had quite a game, though Raymond’s appeared in control and went on to notch a number of other efforts over the bar to gain control of the contest.

Toner caused havoc for the Brooklyn backline with his constant running into scoring positions and his tally of five points could have been so much more if it weren’t for the constant attention he was given in the second half by the Brooklyn backline.
A six-point advantage was a fair result. Raymon’ds now look a hot tip for glory this year, and though there is still a long way to go before the end of the season, and quite a number of teams which will certainly be out to catch them, tip against them at your own risk.
