New York GAA transfers approved

The following New York GAA transfers were approved on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Lansdowne Bar:

Michael Browne, Cavan to Rangers; Padraig Davis, Westmeath to Longford; Ollie Crommie, Down to Armagh; Paddy Carney, Tyrone to Kerry; Ronan Dolan, Clare to Dublin; Cathal Dowd, Clare to Roscommon; Joe Fitzgerald, Rangers to St. Barnabas; Dermot Fleming, Mayo to Sligo; Pat Healy, Rockland to Sligo; Marshall MacAdoo, Mayo to Monaghan; Barry McAndrew, Armagh to Donegal.

Also, Donal McCarthy, Westmeath to Cork; Peter McCormack, Westput to Armagh; Tom McGrath, Donegal to Sligo; Stephen McDonald, Monaghan to Armagh; Louis Holland, Westmeath to Kerry; David McHale, Stamford to Mayo; Stephen O’Donnell, Dublin to Armagh; Liam Quinn, Leitrim to Celtics; Kevin Shalvey, Kerry to Cavan; Pat Spellman, Westmeath to Sligo; Dermot Yorke, Longford to Sligo.

The following players all applied for transfers but were contested against by their clubs. The results will be announced at this Thursday’s meeting:

Paddy Burns, Donegal to Down; Ronald Cosgrove, Sligo to Leitrim; Peter Devlin, Fermanagh to Down; Dermot Harrington, Sligo to Longford; Collie Fearon, Down to Armagh; Raymond Gallagher, Cavan to Fermanagh; Gerry Hughes, Brooklyn to Fermanagh; Colm Kelly, Roscommon to Kerry; *Kieran Treanor, Leitrim to Celtics; *Paul McElroy, Leitrim to Celtics; Kieran Lee, Fermanagh to Rockland; Richie Maher, Roscommon to Leitrim; John Markey, Westmeath to Tyrone; Andy O’Grady, Leitrim to Kerry; Paul Potts, Cork to Leitrim; Peadar Reynolds, Sligo to Leitrim.

All transfers were challenged, apart from Joey Browne’s move from Waterford to Kilkenny.

When all transfers are finalized, the changes concerning players from junior to senior football and hurling will take place on Thursday, March 11, at the Lansdowne Bar.
