Féile Péil USA, the first underage tournament involving players from the New York Minor Board and the North American County Board will be held in San Francisco and begin on Friday, June 25, and conclude on Sunday with the crowning of the champions.
The tournament is the fruit of six months of discussions by the two boards, with the North American Board represented by president Paddy Rooney, secretary Jimmy Grealish and youth and development officer John O’Flynn and New York by president Michael Keane and vice presidents Peter Jones and Tommy Traynor.
New York will enter two teams: Rangers F.C. will enter their U-12 team in Div. 2 and the younger brothers and sisters of both player panels will compete at U-10.
A gala reception with radio and TV coverage is planned for the Irish Center at 9 p.m. on the 25th for all teams and officials.
Also, in New York this Saturday and Sunday, the first-ever East Coast tournament with teams from Philadelphia, Boston, Buffalo and New York will competing at U-10 and U-14 for the East Coast Perpetual Cups and medals in all three age groups.
The New York U-14 player panel for Féile is Brendan Fennell, Brian Canty, Ray Bader, Billy Cosgrove, Michael Cannon, Tom McVeigh, Rockland: Michael Greaney, Brian Dennehy, Christian O’Neill, Stephen Hughes and Brendan Murphy, all from St. Raymonds; Justin Murray, Ronan Coughlan, Peter Cassells, all from Rangers; Brian Slattery, Gary McGurk, John McArdle, Patrick Traynor, Brian Donohue, all from Celtics, and Barry Sullivan, Douglas Brady, Kevin Hannon, Brendan Mulroy, Matthew Hannon and Joey Graziosa, all from St. Barnabas.

The Rangers U-12 player panel for San Francisco is Patrick O’Driscoll, Kevin O’Driscoll, Sean Twomey, Stephen Cassells, Chris Cassells, Lorcan Malone, Peter Woods, P.J. Wagner, Kevin Cullinan, Tim Lynch, Michael O’Sullivan, Eamon Nugent and Matt Mullins. Ther managers are Denis Twomey and Henry Malone.
The U-10s include Daniel Cahalane, Damien Cassells, Brian Twomey, Colin Murray, John Powers, Colleen Gilly, Chris Fitzsimmons, Brendan Canty and Kevin McArdle.
