Police have yet to make an arrest in the David Delaney murder case. A Dubliner, Delaney was shot dead while tending in a Manhattan bar two weeks ago.
Sources close to the investigation told the Echo at presstime that a number of leads were being checked out but that no immediate arrests were expected.
Delaney, who was 41 and single, was working alone in the Liffy 11 bar at Broadway and 213th St. in Inwood in the early hours of Tuesday, March 28.
He was shot a number of times by one or more assailants who entered the bar shortly after midnight.
Detectives initially questioned a local man whose name was uttered by Delaney in his dying moments. The man was subsequently released.

Gilman wants reform
Rep. Ben Gilman, chairman of the House International Relations Committee, has called on the British government to move forward "expeditiously" with all the Patten Commission’s RUC reforms.
"Clearly it is time to end the unionists’ veto of long overdue reforms and power sharing in the north of Ireland. The Irish people deserve nothing less," Gilman said in a statement.
Gilman is due to preside over an upcoming congressional hearing into the reimplementation of the stalled Good Friday agreement.
McAllister resolution
New York City Council member Katherine Freed has introduced a resolution supporting political asylum for the McAllister family from Belfast. The resolution urges U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno to suspend deportation proceedings against the family on the grounds that their lives would be endangered if deported.
