The Rovers won their fourth game out of five this season with a comfortable victory over Integral. It was a scrappy game, but the Rovers played the better soccer and deservedly took the lead on the half hour.
Jake Nicols beat the full back, raced toward the goal and unleashed a rocket shot into the bottom corner of the net. With goal machine Tony O’Donnell looking sluggish, it took until the last ten minutes before substitute Brian Green finished a fine move down the left for his first goal of the season.
The Rovers fans cheered them on for more goals but Damien Doherty had to produce a couple of quality saves to keep the scoreline 2-0. Coach Niall Archbold was pleased with the win but thought that too many players had not recovered from the annual dinner dance on Friday.
