First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness are dividing their week’s stay between Washington and New York.
The visitors attended a Fortune 500 dinner in Washington on Monday evening.
On Tuesday, the two met with President Bush at the White House during which the president congratulated Robinson and McGuinness man on the return to power sharing government in Belfast.
“We were delighted to meet with the president and wish him well for the future and also thank him for his support over the eight years of his term in the White House,” said Robinson, who is also the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party.
