NYGAA Previews: Clare hurlers take on Waterford

February 16, 2011

By Staff Reporter

2:30 p.m., Clare vs. Waterford
After last weekend’s hammering by Limerick, Clare’s frame of mind going into this Senior Hurling playoff could well decide the outcome. They may also be missing the influential O’Halloran brothers, Gerry and Mike, who were absent from last Sunday’s mauling. Waterford had Limerick senior hurling forward Shane O’Connor in action last time out and the presence of weekenders could well tip the balance.

4 p.m., Cavan vs. Donegal
After two losses in a row, the confidence of Cavan’s senior footballers will have been restored by that come-from-behind win over Leitrim last Sunday, but Donegal have turned their fortunes around as well over the summer following a poor start to the campaign.

5:30 p.m., Tyrone vs. Mayo
This Senior B Football fixture could be rendered meaningless if Roscommon defeat Derry 24 hours earlier at Rockland. Tyrone need them to go down to Derry to stay alive in the championship and then keep up their end of the bargain by beating Mayo.
