Off the Field Barnabas table quiz, soccer training

St. Barnabas 10th annual table quiz series will start this Friday, Feb. 5, at 9 p.m. in Rory Dolan’s. Tables of 4/5 people, $50 per table. Top tables will qualify for the finals on Feb. 26. All are welcome. For information, call Aidan at (718) 515-7409 or John at (914) 769-0605.

St. Barnabas Soccer Club will resume training for all three teams on Feb. 9 at Evander Child High School on Gunhill Road, the Bronx. With the first league games due to commence in early March, training will take place each Tuesday and Thursday.

LGAA rules convention

The New York Ladies GAA annual rules convention takes place on Sunday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Riverdale Steakhouse.

Astoria Gaels AGM

The Astoria Gaels will hold their annual general meeting on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. at McLoughlin’s Bar. All members are asked to attend and new members are always welcome.

Donegal AGM

The Donegal Football Club of New York will hold its annual general meeting on Feb. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in The Heritage, 960 McLean Ave., Yonkers. All club members are asked to attend and new members are welcome.

New York Celtic Convention

GAA banquet

The New York GAA will hold their 65th annual banquet on Feb. 13 at the Surf Club, 280 Davenport Ave., New Rochelle. Guest of honor will be Terry Connaughton. Cocktail hour will start at 8 p.m., followed by a full dinner. Music will be provided by Brogue. Tickets cost $65. The banquet program is open to advertisers at $100 per page and $200 per gold page. Limerick celebration

The Limerick Hurling Club and the Limerick Association of New York will hold a victory celebration and dinner dance on Feb. 27 in the Royal Regency Hotel, 165 Tuckahoe Rd., Yonkers. The Fermanagh Gaelic Football Club will hold their annual dinner dance on Saturday, March 6, in Greentree Country Club, New Rochelle. Music by Crisis. Kilkenny celebration

The Kilkenny Association of New York and the Kilkenny Hurling Club of New York host the Kilkenny St. Patrick’s Day festival dance on March 13 in the Greentree Country Club, 538 Davenport Ave., New Rochelle. Festivities start at 8 p.m. with a cocktail hour. A full course dinner (choice of three menus) will follow at 9:15 p.m. Music will be provided by Rumor Has It. Tickets cost $60 each. Sligo dance

The Sligo Association of New York will hold its annual St. Patrick’s dinner dance on March 13 at 8 p.m. in Leonard’s of Great Neck, N.Y.

The guest of honor will be band leader Joe Nellany, while the Sligo Person of the Year Award will be presented to Bridie O’Reilly.

Lansdowne rugby

The Lansdowne Rugby Football Club will hold their third annual St. Patrick’s Day Rugby Tournament on Saturday, March 13, at Van Cortlandt Park, at 251st Street, in the Bronx.

The last two years have seen as many as 25 teams New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts, competing in Premiere, Club and Social brackets. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. and runs until mid-afternoon, with the nearby Lansdowne Bar hosting the traditional post-game socializing.
