Garryowen RFC from Limerick will participate in Kick Off 2000, a round robin tournament in New Brunswick, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9 and 10, at New Brunswick’s Memorial Stadium, Joyce Kilmer Avenue. The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital will host a wheelchair competition on Friday evening, Sept. 15, and all day Saturday, Sept. 16. Events include a slalom course, javelin, table tennis, shot put, discus, club throw, weight lifting, softball throw and 60- and 1,500-meter races.

Fund-raiser for Derry City
A fundraiser for Derry City Football Club will take place Oct. 13 in the Shannon Pub, Main Street, Snyder, near Buffalo, N.Y. Music will be provided by the Glengarry Bhoys, Fiona Molloy, Seamus Kennedy and Gerry McCrudden.
The fundraiser will also include raffles and an auction selling off items from team hats to the original signed manuscript of "The Town I Loved So Well" by Phil Coulter, who is the chairman of the Derry team.
