Off the field: GAA seek management team

February 16, 2011

By Staff Reporter

The New York GAA are looking for a new management team for the New York football team. Anyone interested in the manager or selector jobs should call the NYGAA at (718) 519-7355 to submit your name.

A five-man committee, headed by Association President Monty Maloney, will announce the management team at the NYGAA meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29. Paddy Kearney, Pat Scanlan and Connie Molloy are the outgoing group, and may choose to throw in their hats again.

The first challenge facing the new team will be the FBD Cup vs. Galway on Oct. 13. This will be the first step in New York’s quest for the 2003 Connaght Championship. New York will host Leitrim next spring, so this will be the first opportunity for players to make an impression for next year.
