By Staff Reporter

On Sunday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m., the 10th Annual Police Officer Chris Hoban Memorial Run will be held in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn (rain or shine).

Chris Hoban was a New York City Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty on Oct. 18, 1988. All proceeds raised will be contributed to the Police Alumni Scholarship Fund of Xaverian High School. The race will start and finish at Xaverian High School, 71st St. and Shore Road, Brooklyn. The course will wind along Bay Ridge streets and the waterside Promenade of New York Harbor.

This fund-raiser reaches beyond the members of the NYPD. It has become a real community event with the run, health walk and pee wee runs as well as a post-race barbecue.

A post-race benefit party, with live music, will take place at 2 p.m. at Dillon’s at 87th St. and 4th Ave. in Bay Ridge. Admission is $10. Runners, free entry with race number. For information contact Xaverian High School at (718) 836-7100; Rosemary McKenna (212) 979-0172; Marie Lane (718) 836-7100.
