Off the Field N.Y. women 7-a-side tourney

European soccer tour

Manhattan Kickers’ player-coach Mike Fitzgerald is looking for players to join an 18-man Kickers squad on a six-match tour of England, Scotland and Ireland from July 27 to Aug. 6. Call him at (212) 675-7314 for more details.

Seattle Gaels Football Club

The Seattle Gaels football club will host the Mike O’Malley Memorial Men’s and Women’s 7-aside tournament, against teams from Vancouver, San Francisco and possibly others, on May 27. The field and game times are yet to be determined.

The next day, Sunday, May 28, the Emerald Isle Golf Tournament will take place at Legion Memorial in Everett. Details, call (206) 547-1612.

On July 8-9, Seattle Gaels travel to Vancouver for its 13-aside tournament versus men’s and women’s teams from Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

The 13-aside tournament in Seattle will take place July 15-16 against teams from San Diego and Los Angeles.

On July 23 at 1 p.m., an exhibition game will take place in Seattle at the Irish Heritage Club picnic at Lake Sammamish State Park, near Issaquah.

Visitation golf tournament

The Church of the Visitation, 160 Van Cortlandt Park South, in the Bronx, will host its annual golf tournament on May 29 at Van Cortlandt Golf Course. Tee off times are from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The $100 donation includes green fees, golf cart, buffet, dinner and door prizes. Young Ireland’s camogie

The New York Young Ireland’s Camogie Club will hold training every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in playing camogie or learning how to play should call (718) 651-7336.

Annual Riverdale Ramble

The Van Cortlandt Track Club will hold the 23rd annual Riverdale Ramble 10K race on June 4. The race will start at John F. Kennedy High School in the Bronx at 230th Street and Tibbett Avenue in the Bronx.

All entrants will receive a free Coolmax singlet which sells for $25 retail. There will be six pairs of Mizuno running shoes awarded to the first overall finishers. Trophies will be awarded to first 3 in all five-year age groups. There will be trophies in groups under 15, 16-19 and all 5-year age groups up to 69 and over 70.

The fee to join is $12 before June 2 and $15 afterwards.

NICE golf outing in Mt. Kisco

Northern Ireland Children’s Enterprise will hold its 12th annual golf outing on June 8 at Mount Kisco Country Club. Special guest will be CBS sports commentator David Feherty who will give a golf clinic before the tournament and will be the after dinner speaker.

Included in the day’s program will be lunch, a putting contest, a hole in one contest, refreshments throughout the day, gift bags, cocktails, dinner, journal, auction, raffle, prizes and awards.

Reservations for just dinner and cocktail party are $150; foursomes are $1,500. Corporate and hole sponsorships are available.

All proceeds from this event will go toward NICE’s program of bringing children from Belfast to New York for five weeks in the summer, as well as continuing work at NICE facilities in Belfast and Ballycastle. NICE has purchased these two properties to provide a safe haven for children, their parents and community leaders. IBO golf outing

The Irish Business Organization of New York will hold its annual golf outing on June 15 at New Jersey National Golf Club. For details on the course, log onto www.njngolfclub.com. Sons of Shillelagh fight night

The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh will hold its annual amateur fight night on June 16 at 8 p.m. (rain date, June 17) on the grounds of the club in at 15 Oak Street, Old Bridge, N.J., just off Rte. 18. An Irish flag at the corner of Rte. 18 and Oak Street indicates the club’s location.

Last year, more than 900 boxing fans attended the event that consisted of 10 bouts. The same program is anticipated this year. Hot dogs, beverages and snacks wil be available for purchase. Tickets are available for $10 on a first come first served basis.

Mayo GFC tour

The Mayo Gaelic Football Team of Greater New York are going on tour to Ireland in July. The flight departs July 20 and return date is optional. There are some seats available on the flight. Ireland-U.S. game tickets

The United States men’s national soccer team will put its undefeated record at Foxboro Stadium on the line when the USA battles Ireland as part of U.S. Cup 2000 on June 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Advance individual ticket prices for the match are 425, $35 and $50 per seat. On the day of game, the tickets will cost $30, $40 and $65 per seat. Discounted tickets for groups are also available.

County Clare Golf Outing

County Clare 2000 5th annual golf outing to benefit children with special needs at St. Clare’s School in Ennis, Co. Clare, will take place July 20 at Blue Hills Country Club in Pearl River. Sign-in time is 11 a.m. and tee-time is at noon.

The cost is $100 per person or $400 per fourball. Sponsorship of a tee box costs $200.
