Off the FieldFeherty to play in Mount Kisco golf outing

The 10th annual golf tournament for the Northern Ireland Children’s Enterprise (NICE) will take place June 4 at the Mount Kisco Country Club.

Joining the tournament will be David Feherty, the well-known golfer and the rising star of CBS television sports commentary. He was also one of the Irish Echo Newspaper’s 1998 Top 40 Under 40. Feherty, a native of Bangor, Co. Down, grew up wanting to be an opera singer. He played golf professionally for 21 years. At present he lives near Dallas. Feherty will hold a clinic at the Mount Kisco tournament prior to the shotgun start.

NICE enables children from Catholic and Protestant families in Northern Ireland to spend time during the summer with host families in the U.S.

Registration for the golf tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. There will be brunch, and cocktails from 6-7 p.m. and dinner (jacket and tie required) at 7 p.m. The cost is $375 per golfer. For cocktail and dinner only, the cost is $150. For information, call (914) 949-6492.

VISITATION PARISH GOLF Visitation Parish in the Bronx will hold its annual golf tournament on May 25 at Van Cortlandt Golf Course, in the Riverdale Section of the Bronx. All proceeds will go toward defraying the ever-rising costs of the elementary school. At present, efforts are underway to provide an enriched computer program for the students. DIV. 39 AOH GOLF Div. 39 of Tacony, in Philadelphia, is sponsoring the 7th annual John Curran Memorial Golf Classic on June 20 at Juniata Golf Club. RIVERDALE RUN The Riverdale Ramble 10K Roadrace and One Mile Run will take place June 14. The times are 10 a.m. for the Ramble, and 11 a.m. for the One Mile Fun Run.
