Oil rig workers protest cheap labor

DUBLIN – Angry Irish oil rig workers are up in arms that cheap North Sea labor has been given what they claim are their jobs on an exploration rig that arrived off the west coast on Sunday.

“The rig left Scotland fully crewed and this has raised hackles here. People are extremely angry. It’s a bad day for Irish oil and gas,” according to a SIPTU spokesman.
