That’s the message from Frank Mockler, who ran and owned the famed Little Neck, N.Y., establishment for 40 years until its recent closure.
He has plans in coming months to open a downsized version of the pub and restaurant, which pioneered casual family dining in Queens and Long Island.
But first, the Claddagh store, its sister business on the same premises, will go on through the Christmas period. Then, together with family members, Mockler will look for a new location in earnest.
“We’re shopping at this time,” he said. “We’ve had offers. But we’re not interested if it doesn’t accommodate both; that’s what’s holding us up. The whole idea is to be together. We’re so used to it being one.”
