In a show called "God Bless America, an Irish Salute," Tipperary-born world-renowned tenor Frank Patterson will be joined by 1,000 Irish dancers when he performs on Sept. 11 in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
The show will also feature 30 Irish harpists; Patterson’s wife, Eily O’Grady, on piano, as well as Geraldine O’Grady and Oonagh Keogh on violin.
The show will be filmed for an upcoming public television special to be broadcast next February or March.
The centerpiece of this show, which begins at 8 p.m., will be the world-record-setting dance segment featuring the 1,000 champion Irish dancers from more than 40 dance schools. Representatives of the Guinness Book of Records will be on hand to witness the event.
Tickets prices range from $15 to $50 and are available at the box office of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, tel. (888) 466-5722.
