The Irish community in Queens was shocked to hear of the tragic death of popular young Irish bartender Roisin Morris last week.
Morris, 23, a native of Kells, Co. Meath, was killed instantly when the car she was travelling in was involved in an accident at 58th Street and Laurel Hill in Queens on Tuesday, May 22.
A close friend described Morris as the life and soul of the local community. "She was full of laughs and she just loved meeting people, we’re all just stunned by what has happened," the friend said.
Police at the 108th precinct in Queens are investigating the incident and said they have arrested the male driver of the 1986 Ford Mustang car for driving while intoxicated.
Morris’s remains were flow back to Ireland last weekend after a funeral service and prayers at Lynch’s Funeral Home in Sunnyside. She was buried Tuesday morning at St. Colmcilles cemetery in Kells after a requiem Mass.
