Recipes: Northern chefs stir up big apple

If chefs John Halligan, Patrick McLarnon, and Paul Rankin were singers, the three tenors would have some stiff competition. The Northern Ireland-New York combination, which worked so well when Halligan and McLarnon teamed up last year at the James Beard House, played to rave reviews again this year when Michelin-star chef Paul Rankin joined them for a "Best of Northern Ireland" dinner at Halcyon, the Rihga Royal Hotel’s stunning restaurant.
