Referenda broadasts planned

Special shortwave transmissions of RTE Radio 1 programs on the referenda counts and the peace deal outcome will be available to people tuning in in the United States this weekend.

On Saturday, there will be a one-hour broadcast with the latest results beginning at 1 p.m. over 17695 kHz.

On Sunday at 10 a.m., the “This Week” news program will be broadcast on 9810 kHz.

The referenda will also feature on RTE’s daily shortwave broadcast on 12160 kHz at 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

RTE Radio 1 and its sister channel, 2FM, are also available live on the internet at http://www.rte.ie.

Also, C-Span span will be taking RTE and BBC feeds on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, C-Span will broadcast BBC’s “Newsnight” from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and RTE’s “Primetime: from 6:35-7:30 p.m. The RTE wrapup prgram, “Ireland Decides,” will be broadcast from 3-4 p.m. Saturday
