Robinson gets more backing, will speak in NYC

She will speak at the Irish Consulate in New York at an event hosted by IN-NYC on Thursday, Sept. 3, between 6:30 – 8:30pm.
On Sept. 9, she will receive the 2009 Inamori Ethics Prize, which is awarded annually by Case Western Reserve University and the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence to an individual who exemplifies the ideals of ethical leadership and has demonstrated them through work to improve the condition of humankind.
The award ceremony at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, will be followed by an academic symposium on human rights and a conversation with Robinson at 3 p.m. in the Inamori Center.
The Inamori Ethics Prize committee recognizes her leadership role as president of Ireland from 1990-97, when it said she changed the face of Anglo-Irish relations in addition to human rights work at the international level.
The award ceremony at Severance is free and open to the public, and tickets can be reserved by calling the Severance Hall Box Office at 216-231-1111. The symposium is also a free, public event, but
