First Minister Peter Robinson has been forced to stand down from his post for six weeks after a week of scandal surrounding his wife’s private life and finances.
Although he will remain as Democratic Unionist Party leader, Robinson’s role at the helm of the Stormont Executive has been handed to his party colleague, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster.
Uncertainty had been cast on Robinson’s position after a BBC Spotlight investigative program last week made allegations against him in reference to the financial affairs of his wife, Iris.
