Rockland lines up for world record

And when the jigging and counting was all done it did indeed appear that the mostly girl dancers had beaten the standing record of 216 set previously in Dublin.
“I thought it would be a great way to promote Irish culture and the feis,” said record organizer Bill Lee.
Lee’s daughter Brianne was one of the finally estimated 312 line dancers who braved the heat in Harriman State Park during the daylong event organized by Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Lee gathered the signatures of all 312 and will send them together with photos, a video and the statement of four judges who monitored the line to the Guinness world record tabulators.
