Roots race heats up

The question was being asked anew this week after new genealogical research in Ireland turned up a McCain link to the Coddington family in Dublin and presented the presumptive GOP presidential candidate with an ancestor who fought at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 alongside King William of Orange.
Researchers, meanwhile, have unearthed more members of the Kearney family with links to Democrat Barack Obama. Obama has previously been linked to an immigrant named Falmouth Kearney who arrived in the U.S. from County Offaly in 1850.
