The Irish low far carrier notched up a significant passenger rise for the month of November when compared to the same period in 2008.
Ryanair, which describes itself on its website as “the world’s largest international scheduled airline,” said it carried 4.96 million passengers in November. This was up from 4.32 million in the same month last year. The comparative numbers translated into a 15 percent rise.
The reported percentage of seats filled for the month was 80 percent of capacity, an increase of one percent on the same month in ’08. Ryanair said that it has flown a total of 64.8 million passengers in the 12 months to November, this with an average of 82 percent of seats filled during that 12 month span.
Ryanair does not fly the Atlantic though reports continue to surface that the airline, which is run by Michael O’Leary, is looking at services from Ireland, Britain and Europe to the U.S. by means of a newly formed carrier.
