Saw Doctors announce 13-stop U.S. tour

The Saw Doctors, one of the most popular Irish bands with American audiences, will be playing 13 dates at venues in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Philadelphia. The band

will be promoting new tunes from their new album, "Villains", which they look to release in the fall in the U.S.

Referring to the band’s performance at the Guinness Fleadh festivals, Eric Boehlert of Rolling Stone wrote, "Many American fans went to see Sinead O’Connor or Van Morrison but left buzzing about The Saw Doctors and their

ecstatic shows."

The producers of "The Full Monty" film have selected a Saw Doctors song, "Only One Girl" for inclusion in the soundtrack of their new film, "The Closer You Get," which will open worldwide on April 21.

The Saw Doctors will kick off the tour with a show at New York City’s Irving Plaza on March 9. They return to this venue after two sold-out shows in November 1998, when they launched their album "Songs From Sun Street."
