Sinn Fein protests 2nd bug

Adams has called on the British prime minister to “make up his mind” about whether political spying was an acceptable practice.
The Sinn Fein delegation taking part in the British-Irish summit this week in England is taking the device to place in front of the prime minister, Tony Blair, to ask him if he authorized or approved of the bug.
The device, consisting of two microphones, a large number of batteries and transmitter, was found in the ceiling of the main constituency advice center used by the party in Andersonstown.
It came a week after another device was found in the home of a woman who does volunteer work for Adams in the same constituency. Adams said both discoveries showed “bad faith” by the British government, 10 years after the IRA ceasefire.
Adams said he had spoken to Downing Street and to the Taoiseach’s office. He said he expected Bertie Ahern to make “strong representations” to Blair.
“It is a matter for him [Blair] to decide if this is the way to proceed — if he hasn’t authorized this, who has?” Adams said.
